“Yeah I know what you mean.” Agreed Umi, “ This place is so calming.” Karin was looking around while eating her food, when she noticed something moved at the other end of the rooftop. It had suddenly gone behind the stairway entry so she could no longer see it, but she defiantly had seen something. Perplexed she too kicked off her shoes and started to tiptoe towards the stairway entrance. She looked back at the girls and raised her finger to her lips; so as to say carry on normally with their conversation as if she was still sitting there with them. So the girls gave a silent nod and kept on talking to each other as if nothing was wrong and Karin was still eating her lunch with them. Karin had reached the wall and she could hear laughter and whispering. She scooted along the sidewall and poked her head around the corner of the wall; there the culprits were. Three boys all in the same grade as the girls and they were obviously trying to be sneaky, but she was not sure what they were planning. They were going to take another look around the corner of the stairway entry wall when they noticed Karin had found them out. The Boys scrambled and tried to run but the fast and ever cunning Aya blocked them.
“SHIT!” said one of the boys.
“Now what exactly were you guys doing?” questioned Karin. “Why were you back here whispering?”
“Yeah!” Umi and Aya chimed in. standing on either side of the group of guys with their arms crossed. All of the boys’ cheeks flushed a deep red.
“We were…” the middle boy started and was stopped by the two other boys. They had elbowed him in the ribs, and he stopped talking and started staring at the tile floor. Umi and Aya both grabbed an end boy and pulled them away from the middle boy.
“Continue…” said Karin with a glare in his direction.
The boy swallowed hard, “We were trying to look up your….your skirts.” He stammered finally. “ We’re sorry! Please don’t tell.” He pleaded. The other boys scoffed, “They can’t tell dude. They will get in trouble if they tell too.” The two other boys that were being held by Umi and Aya laughed.
Karin to everyone’s surprise started laughing too. The boys stopped laughing immediately. They didn’t understand…why was she laughing? “What’s so funny? Huh?” said one boy.
“Yeah, What’s so funny? It is not like you can tell on us…not that you girls would have the guts to do that anyways.”
Karin’s laughter continued. “ You guys really are stupid!” she triumphed at their stupidity. “ You really think that any teacher is going to believe you three hulgans over the three of us. I mean, come on, two of us are in the student council.” Umi, Aya, and Karin were all wearing big smirks on their faces.
“o…o…o..Oh yeha…well, we…we can tell them,” the boy paused for a second and then a light bulb went off in his head, “ we can tell them that you were on the roof.” The girls looked at each other thinking to themselves, ‘ are these guys really that dense…we already voided that…God, boys are stupid.’ The girls shook their heads and looked at the boys in disbelief.
“ OK, go right ahead!” Umi proclaimed.
“HUH!?” the boys said in unison.
“Yeah, go ahead, tell a teacher, or anyone,” said Aya, “ I DARE you to.”
“Ha! Beacause as soon as you do the three of you will be suspended for about a week.” Stated Karin.
“Oh, and what? You guys are going to get off free and clean? I don’t think so!” Scoffed one boy.
“Oh no, not free and clean. We may have detention but that depends on which teacher you tell.” Stated Karin matter-of-factly. All three girls smiled and high fived each other, and burst in to laughter walking away from the mentally defeated boys.
Aya went over and snatched up the lunches and shoes that were in dissary and yelled to the girls, “Yo! Come on we should go and check on Sora! I am kind of worried about him, he never showed up.” Karin and Umi walked over to Aya, grabbed their affects and headed down the stairs with her. The boys looked at each other and then started to run to find the meanest teacher in the school. They didn’t care what the girls had said, they were going to tell and see just who would get the last laugh.
