As we know, live-action adaptations of anime have been hit-and-miss. Either they do awesome (like Transformers), horrible (Dragonball), or fail at the box office but still get a cult following (Speed Racer). Heh, yea I read about that a week ago. Never having watched the series, I don't know how it will play off, but Keanu Reeves has had some good roles! Look at The Replacements. Or Sweet November. Both great movies with him in them! He could pull it off.....

...I can see Cowboy Beebop making a good live action, even without a good director. It's easy and realistic, asside from the space thing.

If this DID turn into another DBZ-esque failure, I think we'd all need to start killing bad directors until they learn how to stop sucking.
I'm looking forward to this though. I definitely think it's going to be epic.

I'm holding any judgments until I see a trailer. At least with Cowboy Bebop, we have very ambiguous races for everyone in the show (although I always pictured Spike as a Asian/Caucasian mix, myself, much like Mr. Reeves is!). So it could work as long as the director pulls it off.

My prediction? This is going to go horribly horribly wrong! The fight scenes... *throws up* $5 says we'll be seeing some of the same fighting technology as we did back in the Matrix. I'm scared. I really am. I know it's going to be ****ing stupid the first time around, but I hope they do it like they did the batmans. Meaning, they were almost all gay, until this last movie came out. Yes I will watch it, but so help me god I am going to kill Keanu if he ****s up Spike. Honestly, seriously, truly, I will **** his life up. And when I'm done with him, I'll take his foot, and shove it up the director/s' ass/es, rubber cement the bodies together, and drop em off of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I COMPLETELY agree with you dude. Cowboy bebop is, by far, my favorite anime of all time. NO ONE should **** with it. AND HOW COULD ALL OF YOU GUYS NOT WATCH IT!? It has to be one of the most gripping, deep, action packed and fun anime's of all time. |

My only problem is when they do a live action movie, they tend to either summarize and simplify the entire series into 90 minutes and they don't exist as an extension or they make it parallel, but different. So instead of being a live action dragonball movie, it is a live action movie based off of dragonball.
I'm going to have to look into Cowboy Bebop so that when this movie sucks, I can give reasons why besides Keanu.
