That sounds... amazingly philosophical coming from you... Is that a quote?

I actually just came up with it off the top of my head. It might be a quote somewhere, but, yeah IDK. Oh, and I found a computer I have access to while I'm here in Korea. I'm teaching conversational english while I'm here, haha! So yeah, I get to use the school's computers while I'm at work. Even though I teach for like, 30 minutes to an hour a day. Weee!!!!

Eh I guess so. It's actually really fun, and I have no worries about teaching them bad words, cause they already know them all v.v Oh well! I yelled out **** just for ****'s sake, and the kids went wild with laughter. Anywho, I'm off to teach again! Peace!

My oldest kid in the class is like 13. The majority of them are about 6-8 though. I think they just heard the word in a movie or something they saw on TV. They don't edit out the cuss words. So, with that said, they also may have heard it from an older person and just kept repeating it cause it's fun to cuss in a different language. Who knows. Shoot, my first F bomb was in 1st grade. I stubbed my toe, and I remembered my dad doing the same thing so I copied him. A few seconds later, I yell out, "WHAT THE ****!" Broken enlish and all. XD

That actually makes a lot of sense. Plus there's the whole thing where we think each other's languages are cool...

DUDE, english here is like japanese at a anime convention! It's insane! These kids are actually wanting to learn the language at like 4 years old! I just saw one student that could form nearly perfect sentences in english, and she is only 3 FREAKING... ****ING YEARS OLD!!!!

... That's very true, Roy, and actually very scary. I mean, we're raised with the language, and there are people who have been here 20++++ years(even in college), that still have trouble with being able to speak properly when it's required. These kids can write perfectly fine in english, the talking part is what gets them. That is even kind of sad too. Cause I remember grading some of the little kids papers, and I wa thinking that these kids were better than some of my friends were back in college. I used to help my friends with their papers, you know, basic grammar and spelling stunks.

I get the idea it has a lot to do with familiarization. We're so familiar with the language that we're downright casual about it. We make up words left and right, and tend to make a lot of stuff into slang. These kids are probably not as good at their own language as they are with ours.

Actually, they press Korean grammar hard on the kids. Grammar when it comes to speaking and writing is extremely tied in with the culture. It's something that they take extreme pride in. They make sure they speak correctly for each situation, meaning, they speak and act with traditional respect with those that call for respect, and they speak and act still with general respect with their friends. We cuss a lot with our friends in our American culture, but the kids here hardly ever do. It's really really weird here, but I like it!
