Here's the story.. my motherboard burned out around 5-6 months ago. In January, I finally got a laptop so I have something to use and that I won't be without a computer. I'd be pissed if I didn't have one... Then, about a month or two ago I got a new motherboard from Paul and recently found out it won't fit the old case. (I had that feeling anyway) So, I got a new case which I got in today. I had a play around with it, figuring out what's inside and such, but now I found out I'm just going to have to build a new computer entirely. >.>

Here's a picture from Newegg of the back of the case, I can't get a better one right now anyway: Clickie - And now I need a motherboard that'll actually work with the back panel of this particular case. Here's another that might help: Click.

I think I can take any size of motherboard, but.. I'm not sure. If it helps any, here's the case itself: Sunbeam Transformer. I haven't looked at the motherboard yet (the one in particular I want) as to what I want to see what the rear I/O looks like to get an idea if it'll work or not. But at the moment, I'm quite pissed that I won't be having a computer up for probably the rest of the year now.. >.>

Motherboards, when new, come with the piece for the back of the computer. The one that is there pops out. Thus, if buying a motherboard, you don't have to worry about it.

Computers from Dell, HP, Acer, etc. usually don't have the pop-out piece as an actual pop-out piece, thus making it harder to use their cases with other motherboards.

Technically, you can pop out the piece and not have one there at all. It is a flimsy piece of metal anyway and doesn't offer real support or anything. If you can avoid it, though, don't run the computer without it for airflow reasons.

You see, I didn't know that. XD

Well, I would try to avoid it, but I have no choice because I don't have a job to pay for a new computer, which would be around... $2,700~ (plus/minus about $500 for various parts probably)

Sooooooooooooooo.......... desperate times call for desperate measures.

[edit]
Mk, I got the motherboard in, now to get help on putting it back together now. >.<

Hmm..... 2700+ huh? Trust me, you can build a desktop computer for much-much less. XD Really though, it's what you'll be doing with it that determines the price.

What are you going to be doing with it? Gaming? Graphics Design? Also, why did you need to build a new computer entirely? Unless something REALLY horrible happened, you should be able to salvage some things. (DVD Drives, Hard Drives, PCI Cards, etc..)

Considering the computer I use NOW originally costed me $800? Yea, though mine was built by another company, it was modified by Cmp.
