I can't remember it's name, but it's by goo goo dolls, and plays in Treasure Planet.

Basically any song by Apocalyptica makes me want to play cello even more (I probably will when I get into college... soon). Just the sound of metal + cellos puts me into a calm state.

Never Again, Far Away, and Savin' Me by Nickelback.
I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith.
Goodbye Time and Don't Make Me by Blake Shelton.
This Ain't A Love Song by Bon Jovi.
Let It Be by the Beatles.
Deadwood Mountain and Holy Water by Big and Rich.
With Arms Wide Open, Don't Stop Dancing, and One Last Breath by Creed.
Travelin' Soldier and Not Ready To Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks.
Songs About Rain and Watching Airplanes by Gary Allen.
Daisy by Halfway To Hazard
Hoist The Colors (from PotC3:AWE) by Hans Zimmer.

And I think that's enough for now.

Just about any song about war makes me want to cry. This includes Zombie and the opening of the latest Fire Emblem. (I'm talking about the ones that deal with fighting and death, not glory and victory.)

Oh... Such a hard topic to post in. If I wrote down all the songs that gave me chills I'd be on here for hours. ^^;; So, I'll just do 5.

What if You - Joshua Radin
Elegie in e-flat minor, Op. 3, No. 1 - Sergei Rachmaninoff
Piano Concerto in G major, second movement (Adagio Assai) - Maurice Ravel
Pavane pour une infante defunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess) - Maurice Ravel
Sonata in G minor, Opus 7, No. 3, third movement - Muzio Clementi
Nocturne in e minor, Opus 72, No. 1 - Frederic Chopin
Romance in F sharp Major, Op. 28, No. 2 - Robert Schumann

Ok.. that was six... Oh well. XD

Viva La Vida by Coldplay is my favorite Coldplay song. I usually listen to it when I've finished writing and I want to clear my mind to unbiasedly check my work.  It helps me calm down and really experience the emotions the people I write about are feeling.

Random midi from Carmen Sandiego give me the chills too, but for an entirely different reason that isn't good.  I haven't played since the last time I had a man over in my dorm room because the music now scares the me.  Plus, I can't play without remembering that I forgot to turn it off after he came and then the game crashed.  It was "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" and I'd just found a criminal when things in real life took an unexpected turn, so I stopped playing.  Just thinking of the graphics that got stuck on the screen, with that awful midi music in the background, makes my skin crawl.

Procol Harum is another band that plays a song "A Whiter Shade of Pale" that I really like.  I first learned about them through my dad, who absolutely adores their music.  The song is really sad, with a mellow touch of lyrics that bring out the true meaning of the song.  I haven't listened to it in a while, but the song instantly changes my mood from whatever it is to something just short of awe and reflective silence.

The Cranberries are also good, but I rarely listen to their music anymore.  I don't have a working Ipod (aka I lost my charger and need money for graduate school so I can't purchase another one until I get a job at the start of the school year,) so I never finished recording their music on to a CD.  But most of the one Cranberries CD my dad has is full of awesome, bone-chilling goodness.

For a while I was also a huge Dire Straights fan.  I still am, to a certain extent, although I am far more selective with the music I like from their albums.  Hungry Like the Wolf, Rio, Industrial Desiease, The Sultans of Swing, Brothers in Arms and Walk of Life are my favorites.  I have them on a CD with the love song from the 1960's version of Romeo and Juliet that is normally the only CD I play in my room.  The rest of their songs that I have don't chill me as much as they used to, especially Down to the Waterline.  It was one of my favorite songs, but now all it does is make me think.

Besides that there is only one song that gets me into a chilling mood and that is One by Three Dogs Under.  Of course, it is a song about the Vietnam war, which doesn't need justifying as to why it gives me chills.  I found it off an album where soldiers and reporters who had been in Vietnam during the war would speak about their experiences before each song played.  Right before One a man came on and talked about this stock footage of a Vietnamese man some soldiers were parading through the street.  It was horrifically touching.

A lot of songs give me chills.

"Lessons in Love" by Declan Bennet is one that does, in a way. I just get addicted to it. I'll feel like I just HAVE to listen to it, no matter what. There's something about his voice that gives me goosebumps at points. And when I saw him in RENT, I couldn't breathe during "One Song Glory" I just kept staring in awe. He's got this presence when he sings that just can give people goosebumps, I swear.

"Pressure" by Paramore does too. I just go nuts when I hear it. The lyrics just get me all wowed. And the singing... Wowness...

And I know this will get rolling eyes, seeing how obsessed with The Cranberries I am... "Chocolate Brown" That calms me down so much when I'm upset. The way Dolores sings (I know, I'm obsessed with the singing, I can't help it) is so soothing in a haunting kind of way. And "Zombie" brings back childhood memories of wailing along to it in a six year old's voice in the car with my mom....

Northern Downpour by Panic! At the Disco just kinda... gets me. For whatever reason, I kinda faze out of myself for a bit and become absorbed in the song.

"I Didn't Understand" by Elliott Smith just makes me feel... I dunno.
All of his songs make me feel all weird, but that one just makes me feel... weirder? hahah.

I agree, most songs by Elliott Smith make me feel awful. But from him Pretty Ugly Before ranks number one. That song is just so depressing.

And another song would be Casimir Pulaski Day (Uh...I'm a little shaky on spelling there..) by Sufjan Stevens. Absolutely terrible Sad
